Period 1: Surd as irrational numbers and rules of surds
Period 2: Basic form of surd: similar and conjugate surds.
Period 3: Additions and subtraction of surds
Period 4: Multiplication and division of surds
Period 5: Surds rationalization
By the end of the lessons, learners should be able to:
i. Define rational and irrational numbers
ii. State the rules of basic operation of surd correctly
iii. Simplify the addition and subtraction of simple surds
iv. Calculate the multiplication and division of problems in surds
v. Rationalize the denominator of some conjugate surds

Period 1: Tabulation of grouped data, class intervals and location of mid values
Period 2: Analysis of a grouped data by measure of central tendency
Period 3: Analysis of a grouped data by measure of dispersion: range, mean deviation, variance and standard deviation
Period 4: Application of an assumed mean of a grouped data
Period 5: Review of the topic using past questions
By the end of the lessons, learners should be able to:
i. Tabulate the grouped data, class intervals and locate the mid values
ii. Solve problems on a grouped data by measure of central tendency
iii. Compute the range, variance and standard deviation of grouped data
iv. Use an assumed mean to calculate mean and standard deviation of a grouped data
v. Explain the meaning of dispersion

Period 1: Sales representation of x and y axes
Period 2: Construction of histogram to find the mode
Period 3: Construction of ogive curve to find the median
Period 4: Analysis of quantile range and percentile from ogive curve
Period 5: Review of the topic using past question
By the end of the lessons, learners should be able to:
i. State the need for grouping data
ii. Form grouped frequency table
iii. Calculate class boundaries, class interval and class mark
iv. Draw histogram graph and o give curve
v. Use the histogram to calculate the mode and o-give curve to find quartile range and percentile
