The National Teachers’ Institute (NTI), Kaduna was established in 1976 by the Federal Government with a mandate to train and retrain teachers at all levels of the Nigerian Educational System. The institute commenced the Advanced and Post-Graduate Diploma in Education programme in February 2005. We provide support that facilitates learning for student-teachers of the PgDE programme through our NTI PgDE Smart Learning. The NTI PgDE by distance learning service (DLS) is a 15-month programme that includes three months of internship. Graduates in other disciplines and who are interested in teaching or promoting the teaching profession are eligible to apply for the NTI PgDE programme. Because we realise that it is usually a tight schedule for many student-teachers running this programme, we have created a platform called NTI PGDE Smart Learning to assist teachers who combine this programme with other important activities.

Our smart learning consists of e-Classes where all the courses for first and second semesters’ questions are discussed. You can also check our courses overview for the NTI PgDE programme.

The NTI PgDE programme consists of two semesters: First Semester and Second Semester. Each semester has a written examination. There are various courses for each semester. For example, first semester has the following courses: History of PDE 701 Education, etc. While second semester includes PDE 713 Introduction to Educational Management and Planning etc. Kindly click on each semester to view all courses.
