The National Teachers’ Institute (NTI), Kaduna was established in 1976 by the Federal Government with a mandate primarily to train and retrain all categories of teachers at all levels of the Nigerian Educational System. The institute commenced the Advanced and Post-Graduate Diploma in Education programme in February 2005. We provide support that facilitates learning for student-teachers of the PgDE programme through our NTI PgDE Smart Learning. The NTI PgDE by distance learning service (DLS) is a 15-month programme that includes three months of internship. Graduates in other disciplines and who are interested in teaching or promoting the teaching profession are eligible to apply for the NTI PgDE programme. Because we realise that it is usually a tight schedule for many student-teachers running this programme, we have created a platform called NTI PGDE Smart Learning to assist teachers who combine this programme with other important activities.
