At Ana Arm Technologies, we are passionate about the inclusion of rural learners in the e-Learning regime, which was largely triggered by the corona virus pandemic. This is in tandem with the United Nations’ SDGs Goal 4, which is focused on providing quality education.

However, research from reputable organisations, such as the UN has shown that even before COVID-19, “the progress towards inclusive and equitable quality education was too slow”. By that tempo, it was estimated that over 200 million children will still be out of school in 2030. Unfortunately, COVID-19 hit the world below its belt and schools were also affected. The school closures kept 90% of all students out of school. The implication is that inequalities in education are further exacerbated by the corona virus pandemic. In addition, remote learning remains out of reach for at least 500 million students.
All these prompted us to design a unique Study Launchpad on different topics for every subject. The content of our launchpad is curriculum conscious, teacher mindful and student friendly.
From the research we carried out in 2019, we discovered that e-Learning is much more than the hype and publicity we often advance to it. Certainly, the publicity is as well important as the functional aspects that make up an effective e-Learning system.
However, our research revealed that the five functional aspects that must be integrated to create an e-Learning solution (e.g. affordable data, quality internet, access to device, power supply and curriculum conscious content) are not all within the reach of many secondary school students in rural areas.
Therefore, in order to reduce the possibility of depriving rural learners from participating in the e-Learning regime, we have designed Study Launchpads which they can easily download on any device and then study offline at their own pace.
Our Study Launchpad is tantamount to the traditional lesson note commonly used in secondary schools with an added advantage of additional features such as advance organiser that links SSCE past questions with behavioural objectives.
It is our sincere hope that the launchpad will help deflate the anxiety some students may have about e-Learning and also assist them work around the glitches currently obscuring e-Learning in rural communities.
With just a N100 Airtime, we believe that rural learners can now access quality e-Notes on any topic in any subject like their counterparts in urban areas. The e-Note is a soft copy in PDF format which can be downloaded on the student’s phone or any computer-based device and can be accessed offline anywhere, anytime and in any form.
The category of rural dwelling students that forms the primary focus while developing the Study Launchpad consists of those students in Senior Secondary Schools. More importantly is the seamless and easier access the launchpad provides to the same category of students living in urban and metropolitan cities. The subjects already on our list include:
