Period 1: The Central Nervous System
By the end of this lesson, learners should be able to:
i. Define central nervous system
ii. Mention the types of central nervous system and explain them
Nervous system includes all the organs and tissues which enable animals to respond to external changes in their environment
There are two types of central nervous system
The central nervous system is made up of the brain and the spinal cord

Period 1: Farm Animal Diseases
At the end of the lesson, learners should be able to:
i. Define disease
ii. State the different diseases of farm animal
Disease: This can be defined as any abnormalities in the functions of the tissue, organs and system of the animal body. These diseases are caused by viruses, bacterial, fungi, protozoa and malnutrition
Types of Farm Animal Diseases
Foot and mouth: This disease affect cattle, sheep, and goat. It shows like bruise in the lips and legs of the animal. It is caused by a virus.

Period 1: Anthrax, Brucellosis, Dermatomycosis
At the end of the lesson, students should be able to:
i. State the symptoms of Authrax, Brucelleosis and Dermatomycosis
ii. Mention the method of control for Authrax, Brucelleosis and Dermatomycosis
Anthrax is a bacterial disease that affects cattle, sheep, goat and pig
Symptoms: High fever, depression, blood ooze from nose, mouth and anus, lack of appetite, loss of weight, staggering and sudden death of animals. Transmitted through contaminated feed, water, equipment and infected animal
Control: Regular vaccination, proper sanitation, isolation of infected animals
